South Slop Switching Building Expansion

The South Slope project was unlike any other. An existing wood structure building contained equipment that could not be shut down during construction. The client engaged with City to build a precast building around the original structure that could withstand an F5 tornado. The construction consisted of caissons with grade beams positioned atop. Tornado-proof doors and frames were installed, and new mechanical and electrical equipment allows South Slope to expand its switching capacity in the future.
