Burn Unit

This project consisted of the renovation and expansion of an active burn unit, including approximately 5,300 SF of expansion into existing shell space and renovation of approximately 12,200 SF of existing patient care areas. Scope included new inpatient rooms, outpatient exam rooms, hydrotherapy rooms, a procedure room, and associated support spaces, along with significant mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas upgrades. The project was executed in 13 phases adjacent to a fully operational burn unit, requiring strict infection control, detailed coordination, and continuous operation of one of the most sensitive patient environments at UIHC.
